Weekly Report: Sept. 19-23 Week 4

This week ds 11 read from The Birth of Britain by Winston Churchill. This is probably his least favorite book this year. It is over 500 pages and uses some more difficult language, but I think it's a good stretch for him, as he has gotten a bit lethargic in the brain of late. He is also reading The Once and Future King by T. H. White and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. He and dh are discussing Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis as they go. They are not as far along as I had scheduled... but they are both getting a lot more out of it then I had expected. There was some science done and some math. I am beginning to think that we are cursed to use Epsilon and Delta forever! He did sequential spelling, penmanship, Practice Town, Finished Grammar Town and began Caesar's English 1 (the intro and ch.1). I hope to accomplish more next week.

No school happened on Friday. Dh was taken by ambulance on Thursday night for chest pain and is why I didn't post this Friday.
*He is fine by the way.

Ds 9 read from Ten Queens by Milton Meltzer, Tree in the Trail by Holling C. Holling, Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan, Heidi by Joanna Spyri and a couple science books I can't recall the names too. He did some science and some math. He did sequential spelling, penmanship, Practice Island, Finished Grammar Island and began Building Language (the intro) We just didn't get around to Latin or Logic last week.

Ds 7 read from Phonics Pathways, Reading Pathways, Bob Books, Zipping, Zapping, Zooming Bats by Anns Earle and was read to from Understood Betsy by Dorothy Canfield Fisher. He also did a chapter of math and some science.

Dd 4 read from Phonics Pathways, Reading Pathways, Bob Books, and was read to from Understood Betsy by Dorothy Canfield Fisher. We also did a fall study. She did her starfall school 4 days last week.

  2. How scary for you and your family to have Dad leave in an ambulance. It looks like school went well though.
