1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Beach Time

I'm so thankful for the spring weather. Today had a high of 70* and was overcast. So we decided to take a walk along the beach. There was a little running around and goofing off. We didn't have a lot of time before it started raining, but we had the beach all to ourselves. After such a long winter it's nice to feel the breeze again.

Unexpected Flying Guests

My dear son decided to camp out it the living room last night. He bedded down in our reading nook. Not the best choice he decided at 6am this morning. He had a hundred or so visitors of the flying persuasion. You would have thought he'd seen aliens from Mars or blood sucking vampires from Transylvania.
But they were just these little flying creatures here...

About 100 or so. We don't know where they came from but we did find them a nice new home.

We sprayed around where we think they were coming in from. And we are hoping that will be the end of that drama. Meanwhile we just had to find out a little about our unexpected, and unwanted guests... and don't you tell them that it's school cuz it's not! Haha. We are now looking for the nest... and hoping that it's an outside nest and not in our walls. Here are a few more photos for your viewing pleasure.

Oh the Wayside

We were out and about today and we happened upon a beautiful field of purple. So of course we just had to stop and take a look. Here are a few photos we took of the field.

These pictures just don't do them justice. I think it may have been the light. In any case this is a field full of purple lupine flowers.

These flowers are whiplash daisies Erigeron flagellaris (at least we think they are).

Jo Bean especially liked these Marsh Marigolds (Caltha palustris)

Queen Anne's Lace Daucus carota

Field Scabious Knautia arvensis

These two flowers are as yet unidentified. The tall pail pink flowers didn't show very well in the light of the sky.

At the first thaw we saw this plant growing beside our bike path... it's fuzzy leaves caught our eye...

and we now see this same type of plant grown much taller with a sepal covering it's flower. I'm hoping we will be able to identify it by it's flowers once they bloom.

Covered Bridge Tour Part 1

We were going to go on March Maple Madness Tour today, but instead, because of rain we took the Covered Bridge Tour. We found 11 bridges of 17. We plan to do the Maple Tour next weekend as it promises to be sunny and afterward we'll be finishing up the Covered Bridge Tour. It's nice to get out again after so long a snowy winter.

Here are a few of the Bridges we saw.
