We were out and about today and we happened upon a beautiful field of purple. So of course we just had to stop and take a look. Here are a few photos we took of the field.
These pictures just don't do them justice. I think it may have been the light. In any case this is a field full of purple lupine flowers.
These flowers are whiplash daisies
Erigeron flagellaris (at least we think they are).
Jo Bean especially liked these Marsh Marigolds (
Caltha palustris)
Queen Anne's Lace Daucus carota
Field Scabious Knautia arvensis These two flowers are as yet unidentified. The tall pail pink flowers didn't show very well in the light of the sky.
At the first thaw we saw this plant growing beside our bike path... it's fuzzy leaves caught our eye...
and we now see this same type of plant grown much taller with a sepal covering it's flower. I'm hoping we will be able to identify it by it's flowers once they bloom.
